Welcome to SPARK ANIMATION 2021!

For the second year in a row, the Festival and Conference will be held online. We hope to return in person in 2022. To receive all future announcements and updates, don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter!

Passes for the Festival and Conference are now available at SparkAnimation.ca.

  • All-Access Pass: $60 (includes ALL film festival and conference programs)
  • Conference Pass: $50 (includes conference programs ONLY)
  • Festival Pass: $30 (includes festival programs ONLY)

Note that all prices are in Canadian dollars, tax not included.


FESTIVAL

Our venerable little festival continues to grow with almost 1,000 submissions from 68 countries. In addition to several feature films, the following popular shorts programs are returning:

CONFERENCE

New this year, more than 60 presentations (and counting) will be divided into distinct programs or tracks. These include talks from Aardman, Atomic, Bardel, BRON, Cinesite, Disney, DNEG, DreamWorks, Framestore, Illumination, Netflix, Pixar, Sony, Titmouse, Weta and WildBrain.

Speakers include Andreas Deja, Bill Plympton, Brenda Chapman, Joanna Quinn, Ralph Eggleston, Torill Kove and William Joyce, to name only a few.

FREE CONTENT

A schedule with Live Q&As will be posted on SparkAnimation.ca under Live Events. These Q&As are FREE for anyone to attend. Registration is required.

For the second year, our friends at WIA Vancouver are organizing another Diversity & Inclusion Summit. These sessions will be available FREE of charge as well. Please, refer to the Live Events schedule for more information in the coming days.


CAREER FAIR: CANCELLED

Due to local pandemic restrictions, we were forced to cancel our venerated Career Fair for the second year in a row. We will continue to work with studios to bring you more online career events in the coming months. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter!


FILM SUBMISSIONS

Submissions for next year’s festival edition will open on 1 April 2022, on FilmFreeway.
