WEBINAR: 25 DECEMBER 2022
Presented by Apple TV+
December 25, 2022

THE TIMELY AND TIMELESS BEAUTY AND WISDOM OF
THE BOY, THE MOLE, THE FOX AND THE HORSE

In late 2019, a small book was published, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. Based on the sensational Instagram postings of artist Charlie Mackesy, it presented the simple beauty of hand drawings done in pen and India ink. But more than the art, it was the universal messages that it contained, that of kindness, and seeing the value of yourself, that truly resonated with people.

In March of 2020, COVID came along pushing the world into turmoil. Anxiety and uncertainty filled people’s minds. And yet here is this book, speaking beautiful words of comfort, kindness and compassion. It spoke to the emotional toll of the loss and isolation we were feeling. And it touched people in a deeply personal way giving them hope at a time when it really was needed.

  • That you are valuable.
  • You are surrounded by people that love you.
  • The storm will end.

And now in 2022, COVID is mainly behind us, and the book — a massive bestseller — has now been made into an equally beautiful animated film and is being released on Apple TV on 25 December.

Earlier this month, Spark CG sat down with the principal creatives behind The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse to discuss the making of this short film.
